Abstract: The main aim of the project is to value nature close to our homes, to create a culture of sport in a natural environment without the need of facilities or gyms: this practise will have health benefits for practitioners, but it will also increase the awareness about preserving natural environment, tackling climate change and understanding the importance of a carbon-neutral economy, in particular about forestry management.
To facilitate the involvement of youngsters to experience sport in nature and understand the natural surroundings, we plan to form teachers, coaches and educators using forest rangers and experts.
Once back to their Countries, the adults who took part in the training will in turn transmit the notions learned to their students and pupils. Our target is to educate two adults for each partner, and consequently each association participating in the project will involve at least one hundred kids/teens in theoretical and practical activities, using both promotional materials and hiking in nature as powerful tools. In the long term, we want to contribute in creating a new generation of sportive people with a special consideration on the preservation of the natural environment surrounding them.
All training and promotional materials of the project will be available online and spread via social media and in video format.
