The project “Take ACTION for ADHD” (Erasmus+ Sport 2024 SSCP – n° 101185015) has officially successfully completed its start-up phase, entering its full transnational operational stage during 2025. This initiative, coordinated by KRAP ASD APS (Italy), aims to explore and systematize how action sports — specifically Parkour, Skateboarding, and BMX — can serve as catalysts for improving attention, motor control, and social inclusion in young people diagnosed with ADHD. This is made possible through the strategic cooperation between the scientific partner Zavod Trend-Prima (Slovenia) and the sport partners Malta Street Sport Association (Malta) and Skateboard Club Vienna (Austria), under the coordination of the lead partner.

Training Program for ADHD
Some key elements identified until now during the project work.
Through our project work and the pilot sessions we have identified several “pillars” that make
the training program effective:

  • The 60-Minute Structured Lesson
A rigid but engaging structure is vital. The sequence (5′ Welcome and Briefing – 10’
    Dynamic Warm-up – 25′ Main Activity / Skill Development – 10′ Free Application of
Trained Techniques – 10′ Cool-down and Relaxation + Debriefing and Closing)
provides the predictability that children with ADHD need to feel secure and focused.
  • Gamification and Motivation (Skill Cards)
Participants receive visual rewards (stickers or stamps) for specific skills milestones.
This provides immediate positive reinforcement, which is crucial for maintaining
long-term engagement in this target group.
  • Inclusion of Free Flow
Allowing a dedicated “Free Application of Trained Techniques” slot (10 minutes) helps
participants release energy and experiment with the technical skills learned in a
non-judgmental way, fostering autonomy and self-confidence.
  • Feedback Questionnaires
We decided that progress must be measured by using pre- and post training
programme questionnaires for coaches, parents, and the children themselves. We
are capturing data not just on sport performance, but on behavioral improvements at
home and school. The data will be analyzed by Trend Prima and shared soon.

We will soon share all the information about the Training Program with you. In the meantime, thank you for your support!
